Oh, and Happy Halloween!!!!

Weekend Recap - October 25-27, 2013

On Friday I worked, but I planned a cool fire night with a few of my girlfriends! I got pizza and beer and we drank by the fire that took us an hour to make and a little help from my dad. Thank goodness for dads!! Our fire kind of fizzled and we went inside and watched our wedding video! So much fun!!! If only I would have taken some pics!!!

On Saturday, we relaxed a bit and then my mom and dad picked up Myla around 11:30am. Brian and I headed to town for date day!!! We had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack and then went to see Don Jon the movie. After that, we went shopping for some furniture and did got some Christmas presents for Myla. I may be a tad obsessed with getting her items from my childhood, but hey who cares!!

Yup, that's a selfie!! What? I was dressed for date day!

For me Myla

On Sunday, we headed to Walmart for groceries and then to my parents. We ate breakfast, went to the park, watched the Redskins, and ate dinner. At home and in bed by 8!!!

It's a milestone Monday!

Well, ladies and gentleman, Myla has mastered making bubble sounds with her mouth. She started doing it this weekend and at this point she has it down pat. She gets a kick out of it and it's probably one of the cutest things EVER!

Also, going on this Monday, is day #1 of my post-baby diet. I finally think I'm serious about getting the weight off and maybe by writing it down on here I will feel accountable to stick to it! Here goes nothing!!

Oh, and I almost forgot, it looks like we may almost have Myla sleep trained. She's been going to bed at 8pm every night and doesn't wake up until around 7-730am! And momma is one happy camper!!! Sometimes, she wakes up in the night but will go right back to sleep with her paci and a quick booty pat. Hopefully, those will wean off and we will ALL be much more rested!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week! I'm sure mine will be rough with a rumbly, hungry belly! HAHA!

Weekend Recap - October 18-20, 2013

Brrrrr it's cold!!! Fall is definitely here!!!

Friday - I was off and spent the day snuggling with Myla. We played, did some laundry, and took a great afternoon nap! We took Peanut to the vet later in the day for her rabies shot and then got some Mickey D's for dinner. Brian had a football game, so we hung out some more before bed time.

Saturday - Brian and I decided that we really didn't feel like doing much, so we decided to go get groceries at Wal-mart and pick up some Redbox movies and make it a movie day. Myla cooperated and hung out with us and even napped on my chest for a couple of hours. I honestly love those moments! After Myla went to bed for the night, Brian and I finished the candy bar puzzle that he had started last weekend. Yes, folks, we were putting a puzzle together at 8pm on a Saturday night! Party animals! After that, bedtime!

Sunday - We were up and ready to go at 9am. We headed to my parents house. DJ and Cayte are here until Tuesday before they leave for their honeymoon. We had breakfast and then the whole family headed to the pumpkin patch. This was round 2 at Snead's Farm for us and it was still so much fun. Jayden loved the chickens and playing on everything and we loved watching him play. This time, we took Myla on her very first hay ride. Afterwards, we all headed back to my parents to watch the Redskins win, have dinner, and carve pumpkins!!

Rice Cereal - Round 2

So, second time is apparently the charm. Myla scarfed down her rice cereal tonight as if she has been eating for months! She loved it, as far as we know, because she smacked the heck out of those little lips! I didn't get a pic, but here's her with daddy before feeding time.

Weekend Recap - October 11-13, 2013

We had quite a fun, but yet relaxing holiday weekend. It all started Thursday night when I FINALLY got my massage and let's just say it was AMAZING!! I really needed it after being up with Myla A LOT this week. I felt much better on Friday morning. The magical powers of massage!! Myla and I headed to her 4 month check-up that morning. She is very healthy and happy and took her shots like a champ once again. That night, Brian talked me in to going to his flag football game. Since I was feeling a lot better, I decided to go. We met up with the Childress and Cox families at Roma's for dinner before the game. Great food. Great company. We got home around 10:30pm and decided to go ahead and start Myla's sleep training boot camp (per our doc's instructions).

Hello there!

We were up early on Saturday morning to see Brian off to Dallas. He was headed there with his Dad and Chilly for their annual guys football weekend. They have decided to visit a different NFL stadium every year for a Redskins game. So, it was a girls weekend for us. Myla and I hung out Saturday, cleaned, did laundry, and did some relaxing. We went to dinner at Lonestar with my parents, did some shopping, and had a Carl's milkshake that evening. Myla's first trip to Carl's!!!

Myla's first hoodie.

Dancin' on the tables, already?!

Rainy weekends = hoodies!

I love this $20 teether! LOL - seriously can't believe I paid that much for this thing!

Cute Shoes.

On Sunday, we woke up and headed to my parents house. If you haven't noticed that is pretty much our typical Sunday routine. We had breakfast then me, Stef, and Jayden headed to Food Lion with my Dad to stock up on food for the day. Dad always fixes us whatever we want on Sundays and we take Jayden to the store with us because he loves Food Lion. During Jayden's nap, Dad and I headed over to my house to install Myla's new closet system. I can't wait to organize everything because I know it's going to work sooooo much better. After DIY time and nap time, it was dinner time and then REDSKINS time. Big game this week - DALLAS! Myla fell asleep before it even started and we left my parents at halftime. Myla slept through being put in her car seat, traveling home, and being put in her crib and she didn't wake up until 7:30am!!! 7:30am, people!!!! She slept 11 straight hours without even the slightest whimper. Maybe this sleep training worked? Unfortunately, for me, I stayed up til 11pm trying to watch the whole game - and WE LOST.

Bath time cuteness makes up for a Redskins loss, right?!

Today, I'm off work for Columbus Day! I LOVE 3 day weekends! Brian doesn't come back until late tonight, so Myla and I are just hanging out. We may decide to get dressed and go to Walmart for some groceries or we may not....

Hope every else had a nice weekend despite the nasty weather.

Myla is 4 months old!!!!

Myla turned 4 months old today and I just can't seem to figure out how the time is flying by so so fast. She is getting so big and developing quite the cute little personality. She had her 4 month doctor visit Friday and weighed 13 pounds 8 ounces and was 24 1/2 inches long. She's right in the 50th percentile for everything.

Here are some of the things she has mastered this month:

1. Rolling over from tummy to back and from back to tummy. She now loves tummy time.
2. Giggling. You have to work hard to make her do it, but when she does it's the cutest thing EVER.
3. Jumping. We got her a new jumperoo and she can reach the floor in it and LOVES to jump.

I'm looking forward to starting her on cereal this week and then baby foods. Also, we have started sleep training. Hopefully, all this kicks in and she will start sleeping through the night on the regular!! I can't wait to see what this month brings.

Poop Explosion: Just your average Wednesday morning!

Oh, what a morning!! For some reason, I decided to put Myla in her new jumperoo (Craigslist score for $10!) before she had taken her morning poop. Let's just say I don't want to see another dirty diaper for weeks, heck months!! Besides the fact that the jumper turned into Myla's toilet, it was so cute to watch her jumping away this morning. We just got the jumperoo last night and she's just starting to learn what to do in it. Here's her last night in it for the first time and without a major poop explosion!

And to my sweet little Myla - I applaud your sense of humor. You thought this was absolutely hilarious! You had me up all night and then you thank me with poop. I love you!

Funny Dad Story #1

I decided I better write this one down so that I can remember it forever and share with Myla when she is older. I'm sure she will get quite the giggle out of it like I did. Last week, I asked Brian to give Myla a bath before I got home from work. Easy, right? Haha, not so fast! Apparently, Brian bathed Myla in shampoo and had no clue! Hilarious!! Then, later the same evening, he was changing her diaper and I reminded him to add some diaper rash cream. I walked by her room to see the funniest thing EVER! He had diaper cream allllllll over his hands, her butt, her legs, everywhere!! I said "what are you doing?!?" and he said "putting her diaper cream on, why?". Wow!!! He started laughing. She started laughing. And, well, what was I supposed to do but laugh?!? Poor kid! I sure wish I would have taken a picture. Oh well, I'm sure there will be more dad stories in the future!!

Weekend Recap - October 4-6, 2013

First of all, I have to say that this was a FANTASTIC weekend!!! It all started off on Thursday evening when I got a new hair do. I've been wanting to do this haircut since I was pregnant, but haven't had the nerve. Well, I finally got it! It's A LOT shorter and is a super cute reddish color.

I had off on Friday, so I hung out with Myla ALLLLLL day and we played and relaxed! Much needed! My mom picked Myla up around 5 ish and I headed to town to meet up with Flip for dinner at Lonestar. (cheese fries and beer...mmmmmm!) We had a blast laughing, talking, and catching up. After dinner, we headed to Tootie's house and hung out on the deck til 12am!!! I haven't done that in FOREVER! So. Much. Fun. I love my girlfriends. (Missed you Becca!)

Saturday morning it was up and at 'em. We were off to pick up Nana and Nanny (Brian's grandmom and mom) and then headed to the pumpkin patch. We took our first trip to Snead's Farm. We loved the down home feel of the real farm instead of going to the more commercialized competitor. Myla loved strolling around looking at all the trees, sunflowers, and pumpkins. We picked our own sunflowers and pumpkins and even swung on a rope swing over a creek. It was a great way to start our family pumpkin patch tradition. Afterwards, we all went to dinner at Splitsville and I had my favorite, sushi. And, Myla REALLY wanted some dessert!

Sunday, Myla and I headed to my parents house for breakfast. We went to the park with PawPaw, MawMaw, Jayden, Stef, and James. We had an impromptu fall photo shoot in between playing on the slides and swings. After dinner, we watched some football and headed home for bed time. On a side note, how cute is my nephew, Jayden?!?! LOVE HIM!
