I had the best day.....with you....today!

Dear Myla,

Today, we had our first official mommy/daughter day and let's just say mommy is feeling a little emotional reflecting back. I loved every minute of our time together today. I loved watching you play and seeing you so happy. I loved seeing how proud you were of yourself for doing "big" girl things. I loved the way you looked at me for help on the things that you still needed me for. I know it won't be long before you don't need me as much. So, I am loving this time with you. I especially love the way you look at me. You make me feel so loved and you make me feel like no matter what I am a good mommy. I love how you want to hold hands with me. I love how much you love me. I hope you know how much I love you, too. You will always be mommy's little girl no matter how independent you are becoming!

Love ALWAYS,
Mommy

First, we went to Burger King for breakfast and you sat across from me on the big girl booster seat. You chowed down on your food and just talked away. Then, we played in the play place and you climbed up and down the slide a million times. We left and headed to Kohl's, Old Navy, and the mall. Every time we got out of the car you grabbed my hand and said "shoppin." You loved how each store had a different stroller/cart. They kept you entertained for a few minutes in each new store. When we went into the dressing rooms, you got to get out and you were happy as can be to run around the room and tried to open the doors while mommy was half naked. Ha! Once we got to the mall, you noticed the ride on toy area. Mommy let you play for a few minutes and you kind of loved Barney and kept giving him hugs. We spent all morning together and then headed home around 1pm. You fell asleep in the car because you were so tired! Our day wasn't over though because we were going to pick up Jayden and Tef-Tef and head to Uncle DJ's game. This was a last minute decision since the weather seemed to be nice and sunny. You slept until we picked them up and were quite happy to see Jayden. You held on to his hulk man that he gave you for the WHOLE ride to the field. Once we got to the game, we had some time to kill before it started so Paw-paw took you and Jayden to play in the bounce houses and blow-up slide. Your cousin helped push your little booty up the stairs again and it's just the cutest thing ever! You jumped in the bounce house with the big kids and copied everything they did. Mommy made you get out fast though because she was panicking over the kids jumping like crazy around you.

We went to sit in our seats and you made it through a good portion of the game before you got ants in your pants. Then, we gave you a cup filled with peanut shells and you dumped them and picked them up over and over again. Hey, whatever entertains you. After the game, we went down to say hi and goodbye to DJ and you got to run the bases again. It was pups in the park day so you got to run with all the doggies too. YOU LOVED IT!!!!

We all headed home, but stopped at McDonald's to let you and Jayden eat some dinner and play again! It was the biggest play place you have ever been in and you rocked it!

You climbed all the way to the top and went down the huge slide. Two little boys came in and played with you guys and we overheard Jayden tell the little boys that you were "his brother." Probably the cutest thing ever. He loves you so much and he takes such good care of you. I know you love him too and I'm sure one day you will be taking care of and looking out for him. We dropped off Jayden and Stef at home and finally got to our house around 8pm. We took a bath together and you played some more. You were in bed and passed out by 9pm. I think you had a great day too!

And while we were out having a girls day, the boys were back at home having a man day! I missed this little booger so much that I had to sneak in to his room and rub his back and give him a kiss goodnight.

Happy Friday!

I'm super excited it's Friday and I think these little ones are too......

The joy they get from a box! Who needs toys?!

I've had a good week at work and I've been selling stuff like crazy on yard sale sites this week. We've I've been cleaning up the house and getting rid of all the baby stuff that we don't need anymore. The house is starting to look normal again! Now, they just have toys in the play room instead of baby gear everywhere! This weekend my plan is to tackle some of the piles and piles of clothes that don't fit Myla or Bryce anymore and maybe start packing for Disney!!! Yes, it's getting close! Oh, and also, we may get to see my baby brother this weekend since he is in town playing the Potomac Nationals. Anyone need something fun to do tonight or tomorrow, they play at 7:05pm both nights and 1pm on Sunday. The weather looks like it might be kind of crappy, but hopefully we will get to see him some either way.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Our weekend - April 17-19, 2015

Friday was my day off and we started it with a bang....laundry and lots of it! HAHA! We ate breakfast, snuck in some Scandal episodes, played with toys, and got rid of the mounds of laundry. We played on the back deck for a while, and I uttered the words "If you lick the deck one more time, we are going inside!" The things you says to toddlers! Myla had decided she wanted to pour all  of her water on the deck floor and drink it off of that.....geez!!! Once Brian got home, we all got ready and headed to eat at Pancho Villa. We ate outside and enjoyed the awesome weather! I ate a few too many chips and Myla was slightly cranky since she didn't nap all day until she fell asleep when we were almost at the restaurant. Oh, kids! After dinner, Brian took us to Alum Springs Park. I had never been and Myla was once again a happy camper since she got to go down lots of slides and swing. Bryce loved it too. Then, we all headed to Brian's playoff football game. Brian, of course, dressed Bryce is Myla's hand me down Supergoats jersey and I tried to wrangle Myla into the man made cage we created so she couldn't escape. She met a little girl and they played together for a while....cutest thing ever! Her other little buddy (I use the term loosely as they have only hung out one other time I think) Cameron was there and he was trapped in the cage too. They all fought over toys, snacks, and sippy cups and tried to escape the cage, but all in all, they had loads of fun. And so did I. I got to see lots of my girlfriends and was especially excited to see my preggo bestie and her family. It was so good to catch up a bit with her. Brian won and we headed home. It was way past Mommy's the kids bedtime.

On Saturday, we had planned to have a date day. While we were waiting for the "babysitter", Bryce stayed standing at his play table for a lonnnnngggg time. He didn't stand up there on his own. We placed him there, but he stayed up!

Then we decided to take Bryce's overdue 8 month photos and happened to capture some priceless pics....

We headed out around 10am (yes, that is what time you go on a date when you have 2 kids under 2) We were finally going to see Fast & Furious 7. I needed to see my main man crush, duh! I thought the movie was ok (TONS OF ACTION - a bit too much for me) and it made me cry at the end. Of course, we all saw that coming! After the movie and tons of popcorn, we headed to Outback for lunch. Let me tell you - it was soooooooo nice to have a meal at a restaurant that I got to eat while it was hot and I didn't have to share. Can you tell I like my food? HAHA! Don't get me wrong, I love my babies, but boy was this date MUCH needed! Now, if only I could get Brian to stop watching the Nats game that was playing on the tv above my head - HAHA! We stopped by Charlie Brown's closet on the way home to see if they had anything cute for the kiddos and then headed home to our babies. We headed to the park to play because it was just way too gorgeous not to. Myla played on the slides and the swing and Bryce fell asleep in the stroller on the approximate 1 minute walk to the park. Needless to say, he missed out on park time. Then, we all played in the driveway with sidewalk chalk. This was Myla's first time using it and let's just say it does get a little messy, but she had fun.

Hey Brian, is that a pink bag you are carrying?!?

We headed inside around 6pm, did bath time, and bed time. Then, it was time for Brian and I to continue our One Tree Hill marathon. Why are we hooked on this show?!

I LOVE weekend mornings. I love how we get to be lazy and relax in bed. Myla watches Minnie Mouse and Bryce chugs his bottle and we all just get to lay around. It really is so nice not to be rushed to go to work! Anyhoo, Sunday morning included lots of cuddles and relaxing. My parents were out of town watching D.J. play, so we didn't have any plans for the day. Bryce, Myla, and I headed to the back deck because the sun was shining! Bryce drank another bottle and fell asleep and Myla dumped all of her water on the deck again. (at least she didn't try to lick it up today - WIN) I put Bryce inside to sleep and Brian watched him while Myla and I got our tan on. Ok, just me. Myla had other things to do like dumping her water alllllll over the place and trying to sit on Peanut. (poor dog)

The weather started to cool off and so we decided it was time to head to Walmart to get some groceries for the week. We were suckered into buying wayyyyy too many Minnie outfits and swimsuits for Myla. She is going to have enough clothes to wear at Disney for at least 3 outfit changes a day. She is SPOILED. Bryce didn't get anything! Poor kid. (HAHA! They didn't have anything for him....he isn't neglected, I promise) We spent way to much money and headed home.
We put Myla down for her nap and quickly called in chinese delivery for lunch/dinner. (because of course we didn't have any food from the grocery store) We ate and again started a tv marathon. Bryce played quietly on the floor and we relaxed. Once Myla woke up, we did dinner and bath time for the kiddos and this little cutie tried to escape from his mommy.....

I guess he didn't want a diaper put on or was stalling bed time! We all relaxed on the couch, put the kids to bed, and then headed to bed ourselves around 9.

Bryce turns 8 months old!

Time is surely flying by! I can't believe that my little baby is already 8 months old! Here are some things he is doing, eating, loving, and hating:

- goes from sitting to crawling to laying down and back to sitting.
- he has pulled up on the basket of books a couple times in the living room and has been caught standing up on his feet and hands too. He will be standing/pulling up before long!
- HATES puffies. He makes the strangest face and pretty much acts like he is choking. Needless to say, we haven't forced the issue because it scares the crap out of me. He will stick to purees until 9 months and the doc said that is just fine.
- LOVES tags. If you give him something with a tag on it, he will find it and chew it. It doesn't matter how cool the toy is, if it lights up, sings, or whatever.....all he wants is the tag.
- sleeps from 7:00/7:30pm to 6:30/7:00am every single night! He is an awesome sleeper.
- got his cool helmet this month and he is rocking it. It doesn't bother him one bit. He didn't cry any and slept through the night the first night he had it. He is a little trooper for sure.
- had his first Easter egg hunt and loved chewing on the eggs. (Basically, he loves to chew on things!)
- still eats oatmeal for breakfast and a veggie and fruit combo for lunch and dinner.
- doesn't nap much during the day. You're lucky if you get a big nap out of him, but mommy is ok with that since he sleeps all night!
- LOVES to be outside just like his sister.
- still has no teeth.
- uses 15725153464 bibs per day for all of his slobber.
- went to his first baseball game. Lynchburg Hillcats vs. Potomac Nationals and his uncle DJ pitched.
- weighs 20 pounds!

And here are his adorable photos from our little photo shoot... (Myla snuck in a few too)

Until next month....

Our Weekend - April 10-12, 2015

My weekend started on Thursday night this week because Brian was watching the babies and I was headed to the Potomac Nationals stadium to see opening day and my brother! He was in town with the Lynchburg Hillcats. The night didn't go so good though. My bro didn't play. It was rainy, wet, and cold. And I didn't get home until midnight. And, if you know me, that is WAY past my bedtime!

On Friday, I decided last minute to take the day off of work and headed to Ikea with my sister and Jayden to meet up with D.J. and Cayte. We shopped around and took the LONG walk through Ikea. I didn't buy one thing! That was weird! Then, we headed to the mall and all ate crappy meals at the food court. We shopped, walked, and watched Jayden play in the play place. I bought a few things at the Disney store and then we headed back to D.J.'s hotel to rest and relax before his game. Well, around 6, they cancelled the game because the lights wouldn't work. We had already woke Jayden up and my parents were already on there way up. Jayden wasn't too happy about being awake and my sis and I thought it was best if we just head home. We had gotten to hang with D.J. quite a bit and kinda just wanted to get home. We stopped at Chick-fil-a and let Jayden play while we ate. It was fun just having a meal with my sis. (And, I need to take more pics!)

We woke up Saturday morning and Brian wanted to clean out his closet!!!!!! WHAT?!? He NEVER wants to clean anything. Anyways, I went with it and I started cleaning other areas of the house and of course doing laundry. It's amazing what all you can accomplish before noon when you have babies waking you up at the crack of dawn! We headed up to D.J.'s game around 2pm with both kiddos in tow. (what was I thinking?! - a toddler and a baby at a baseball game?!) The game started at 4pm and D.J. was the starting pitcher. He did REALLY GREAT and even struck out Jayson Werth of the Washington Nationals who was rehabbing with Potomac. The kids were pretty good. We bribed Myla with a lollipop for a good portion of the game and then she got shuffled between everyone. Bryce didn't like the loud speaker when he was trying to nap so I ended up missing the last inning of D.J. pitch because I had to go find a quiet spot. Picture me rocking a baby to sleep on the ground by the outfield fence - haha! After D.J. came out of the game, we took Myla to the HUGE bounce houses and slides that they had. She loved it and was so cute copying the other kids in the bounce house. She wanted to do everything they did. It was also too cute when Jayden helped push her little booty up the stairs to the big slide.

We had all planned to eat dinner afterwards at Red Lobster, but let's just say toddlers and a 1.5 hour wait don't mix. So, we headed home. But first, we stopped in a random parking lot and fed Bryce his dinner in his carseat. Myla seemed full (probably from all of the candy, lollipops, and snacks we bribed her with to sit still at the game) We called in take out from Tokyo (our fav take out spot) and picked it up at 8pm. We got home, rushed to get the kids in bed, and threw on the p.j.'s and ate our fancy take out planted on the couch.

I woke up Sunday to Myla grabbing my face and saying "Hi" in the cutest little voice. Yes, she has been coming in to our bed in the middle of the night lately. It's my fault. I love cuddling with her, but I don't sleep well either. We are going to get her back on track soon. I promise! The kids and I headed to my parents for breakfast and then we all headed to town to pick up my sisters car. We shopped around Home Depot....

And then hit up the grocery store and headed home. We hung out on the porch and the kiddos played. Dad fixed dinner and then it was bath time. First time that Bryce got to join in with his big boy seat....

We headed home at 7. Bed time for everyone!
