Myla's first concert

Last Wednesday was the last concert of the season at our local venue. Lee Brice was performing and Brian and I decided we really wanted to go even though it was mid work week. Yes, we had to decide if we would be able to stay awake that late on a work night....haha! We then decided to take Myla. I had a work event several weeks ago where we took the kids and there was a band playing and Myla seemed to really enjoy it, so we thought we would try the concert. So glad we did! SHE HAD A BLAST! As soon as we went in, she was running around playing and seemed so excited. We set up our chairs and she was happy as can be to just be outside. She made friends with the two girls beside us. They seemed to love her. Well, until she started throwing grass everywhere. The opening acts started and Myla loved the music. She danced and played. By the time Lee Brice came on it was dark and Myla loved seeing all the lights. She asked to dance with me and my heart melted. Here is the video caught by Brian....

She sat on our laps or danced in our arms for the remainder of the concert. We left probably about 20 minutes before the end and were home in bed by 10pm! And here are our pics from the night! Such a great experience with our baby girl.

Bryce is 1

I know it's late, but I have to blog Bryce's 12 month stats in order to complete this project! I can't believe he is ONE!!!!! I know it is so cliche, but time really does fly. I'm proud that I made it through this year. It has definitely been a tough one parenting two kids under two. And that's an understatement! We are finally getting into the groove of things and Bryce's laid back demeanor has definitely been our saving grace. He is the happiest little kid. Sleeps like a champ. And, he will eat ANYTHING. He LOVES LOVES LOVES blankets and pillows! Seriously, he may need an intervention. He can walk, clap, smack his lips, and do headstands. He has said dada, mama, and nana, but pretty much only once or twice. He is a man of few words. He takes tons of abuse from his big sis, but still loves her oh so much. He drinks regular milk and only eats "real" food. He weighs 24 pounds and is 31 inches tall. His official nickname is "Bubby." Here is my try at his 12 month photos....

Boy, do I love him so! Happy 1st Birthday, Bubby!

Myla's 2nd Birthday Party!

Myla turned the big 2 about a month ago now and I still wanted to make sure to recap her birthday party here. We decided to have a luau themed birthday for her since the summer was starting to crank up. She loves being outside and the water so we knew she would love it! We had the party at 12 on Saturday, June 13th (her actual birthday) outside in our back yard. We had the baby pools filled up, some hula hoops, water guns, and a limbo stick. Myla loved playing in the bucket of water that the water guns were in. She received TONS of presents and was spoiled beyond belief. She received a water table from Mommy and Daddy, a new bike from Mawmaw and Pawpaw, awesome clothes from Nene and Nana, a teeball stand from Grandpa, and TONS of awesome presents from all of our guests. She ate lots of cake and blew out her candles like a big girl. She is so loved and we had lots of family and friends that came and celebrated with her. We are so grateful to everyone!

We welcome the terrible two's with open arms! She is such a cutie! Myla, we all love you with all of our hearts!

The best day and the worst day, all in one!

Last night in his helmet!
When I tell you this morning was rough, I mean ROUGH!!!!! Holy cow! Bryce decided to wake up at 4:45am - totally unlike him. He was NOT going back to sleep no matter what I tried and I had to start getting ready at 5:15am for our final helmet appointment in DC. So, I got him dressed and put him in the bathroom with me. Well, he was tired, and so he was cranky and whiny. Always fun! I was just rushing as fast as I could so that I could get him in the carseat and leave. He will ALWAYS fall back to sleep in the car. So, I was out the door at 6am. And, he started to cry - totally unlike him. I said to myself "as soon as we hit the highway, he will definitely fall asleep" HA! Famous last words. Little boy cried all the way to town while rubbing his eyes and refusing more milk or his passy. HE NEVER DOES THIS!!!! I stop at Burger King....momma needs some coffee to deal with this! He is happy when I get out and hold him for a bit, but we have to get back on the road. Start back up and he starts back up.....UGH! Ok, heading to Walmart to get him some medicine. Can't just run in CVS because they aren't open at the crack of dawn. Park at the right door. It doesn't open until 7am. Walk to the other door with HUGE baby in heels and all the way to the back where the meds are and allllllll the way back to the car. He cries half of the time in Walmart. Fun! Back at the car and give him meds. Think something must be hurting him. Nope, just tired. Proceed to DC with him in the back crying ALLLLLLLL the way there. Think I'm going to go bonkers! Try loud music, try lullabies, try white noise, try cold air, try windows down, try windows up, try yelling, try singing, try hot air, try mickey mouse clubhouse on repeat, try no music, try Frozen song, try crying, try giving up and just dealing with the crying, try singing again.......arrive to doctor's office. It's 8am. Appointment is at 9:15am. Yep, I'm that person. Take Bryce out and think he will let me rock him to sleep. Nope, he's happy as a clam and wants to play! Take him inside, feed him his breakfast, and decide to head to the doc office hoping they will take us early because they ALWAYS do. Nope, not this time. Have fun chasing him for 30 minutes while he wants to play with/touch everything. Finally back to the see the doc. Get his pics taken of his cute new little round head. See side by side of before and after and OMG! Great results! He doesn't have a perfect head, but he made a lot of progress! Bryce is playing, smiling, giggling, and flirting with the doc and all of the nurses. Such a happy little baby. HA! Head back to the car. Put Bryce in his carseat. Hop in front seat. Look in mirror. Bryce is ASLEEP! And hence, worst day.....best day......HAHA! NO MORE HELMET!!!! And p.s., Bryce - you better sleep in tomorrow!
LAST TIME CLEANING THAT DARN HELMET!

No helmet! Oh, and happy as a clam!

What a day! Toodles!
